Location
Nestled underneath Almijara Natural Park and close to the Mediterranean, we are quietly tucked away in the ancient mountain village of Cómpeta, a village where the past and the present, tradition and culture, come together to reveal the roots of a town that has a long history.
Just a short drive from our hostel is the impressive Maroma (6,788 ft.), the highest mountain in Malaga. Along with stunning views of the Axarquía Valley and the Natural Park.
Cómpeta is conveniently located about 30/40 minutes from the coast, making our hostel a great place to discover the Axarquía, its beautiful Mediterranean coast, its mountains, its white villages,… from a quiet place away from mass tourism.
Axarquia is a region where artists, travellers, mountaineers and walkers alike have all been flocking here for centuries. You’ll find an abundance of cafés, inns, restaurants, gift shops, museums, historical bridges, Morish Minarets and a 16th-century church.

Route from Malaga bus station to Cómpeta, both ways. 4 journeys per day. The journey time is 1 hour and 40 minutes from Malaga. There are different stops. See the link for the timetable.
